Around Jacksonville, specialist offices tend to cluster near hospitals and in medical office parks, and wait times for a consultation run from a few days for an endodontist to several weeks for a busy orthodontist. Most consultations across Florida are free or low-cost and come with a written treatment plan and price; ask whether the fee is in-network for your plan, what sedation options exist and how many visits the treatment takes. A second opinion is normal for implants, jaw surgery and full-mouth reconstruction, and reputable specialists expect it.

Today my 16 year old son had 2 wisdom teeth removed that were growing in sideways and his surgery went smoothly. He had no pain and was comfortable. Dr. Gesek and his entire staff were very professional and friendly. They followed up to ensure my son was ok and answered my calls immediately when I had questions about his after care and medications. I couldn’t be more pleased with Dr. Gesek and highly recommend him. While some reviews indicate the office puts you on hold I personally don’t believe that deserves a 1 star review. When I called to make my son’s appointment I was always asked if it was OK to be put on hold and advised that it might take several minutes. I don’t see this as a bad thing - it means the office is not rushing and taking the time to address every patient’s individual needs. Today when I phoned after the surgery I was immediately attended to and not placed on hold. Thank you to Dr. Gesek for making my son’s very first medical surgery experience the best it could be. My son may need his upper wisdom teeth removed and I will definitely be taking him back to Dr. Gesek.

I wish I read these reviews before I came here. The only reason why I leave one star instead of none is because of the wonderful assistants I had throughout my procedure and follow-up appointment here. About a week ago, I had a procedure that extracted all four of my wisdom teeth. My mom and I were greeted by a tall gentleman (whose name I sadly forgot) and he was nothing but kind, polite, and jovial. He would later be the surgical assistant for my procedure and never failed to put a smile on my face. Dr. Gesek, on the other hand, was very aggressive throughout the procedure with a very monotonous tone with asking the routine question if I was alright, and stopped once only after I had been crying for a long period of time. He left immediately after he finished my final stitch, no goodbye, nothing. The tall gentleman was very soothing and gentle despite the rudeness he faced from the doctor, I was immediately calm once the doctor left. For my follow-up appointment a week later, today, my mom and I were again greeted kindly by a dental assistant, Maria. She brought us to the patient room and demonstrated how to take care of my wounds and cleaning them, and once she exited the room w

I almost let the negative reviews scare me away, but I’m so glad I gave this dentist a chance. My experience was amazing from start to finish. He removed two of my wisdom teeth, and I honestly had no pain at all during the procedure. It was quick, efficient, and he made the whole process much less stressful than I expected. The staff was kind, and everything went smoothly. I also want to mention how grateful I am that he accepts Medicaid. It’s becoming harder and harder to find skilled dentists who do, and having access to quality dental care shouldn’t be taken for granted. If you’re nervous because of the reviews, I encourage you to keep an open mind. Everyone’s experience is different, and mine was nothing short of excellent. Thank you for making what I thought would be a scary appointment such an easy one!

This is not a real oral surgeon - they have not offered IV anesthesia twilight or office sedation in over two years, despite the claims made on their website to the contrary. I am fighting them over a consultation fee of $70 for wasting my time to tell me - yeah, we're not responsible for our website - we don't offer that despite what it says. Dr. Gesek said because of "staffing shortages" even though one of the office girls told us she is certified to do that but he won't do it because then he needs two people to administer the anesthesia - which in his chop shop is too much cost. And Dr. Imray is no longer - I think more than a year, so he's holding the practice together with many false claims.

I went here for a wisdom teeth removal and chose not to use nitrous oxide. The procedure itself was very painful, which I expected, but what I didn’t expect was being charged for nitrous oxide anyway. When I questioned the charge, they insisted I received it, but never provided any documentation to support it. I also attempted to follow up multiple times requesting records and received no communication or response. They will likely respond to this review telling me to reach out to the office manager, but I have already done that and received no response. On top of that, I was charged as if all of my teeth were “obstructed,” which they were not, leading to even higher costs. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional, poorly communicated, and unnecessarily expensive. I would not recommend going here unless you’re okay dealing with questionable billing and a frustrating experience.
